I have been there many times for breakfast and lunch. Always a wonderful meal and great service. I LOVE the mini muffins they bring to the table. Now they have started dinner service OMG it is fantastic. The bread they bring I could eat the entire mini loaf. My friend had the rack of lamb and she shared a taste it was wonderful. I have gone a few times, had the black and blue steak it was cooked perfectly, had the prim rib and can’t remember the last time I had one so good. I went on a Tuesday for Pasta night, had the shrimp pasta, my daughter tasted it and tried to steal it all from me. The sides are wonderful also, the mac n cheese and the scalloped potatoes.
I would recommend this place for any meal….breakfast, lunch and espcially dinner.

This place is the definition of hole in wall great place. It’s in a corner of a non-descript strip mall away from the quaint downtown and crowded outlets, but the food is top notch. We walked in shortly before closing so the place was empty.
We ordered the Camarillo burger which was fantastic. We expected a generic patty, but it was a hand made patty that was juicy and thick. The burger comes with a soup so we order the daily special, Chicken Pozole. I’m not a fan of pozole, but I’ve never had it make with chicken and I’m glad I took the risk. It was delicious and no where near as greasy as the typical pozole.
Weird but good mini muffins. The mini muffins are unusuall flavors, like birthday cake. But they are tasty and warm.
The service was also great which really helped round out the experience. Now we have a please to stop and eat after outlet shopping.

I can’t believe I waited this long to try this place. I was pleasantly surprised. Very good food and great service!! The only thing I would ask is that the prices were a bit more affordable for breakfast. Would definitely go back.
-Tiffany S., Camarillo, CA
Good food, very clean, courteous staff. our waitress was very proud of her place of employment & was telling us all about the owner & the pictuers that adorn the walls. Will be here again.
-Ron F., Ventura, CA
Good Service Good Food. I thought the mini muffins are an awesome way to tide children over while they wait. Would recommend this place.
– Ricardo H., Oxnard, CA
This place is pretty new and I really enjoy it! They have delicious mini muffins hot out of the oven that come to your table when you sit down. The omelets are great! Ingredients are fresh. Friendly staff, family owned and operated which I like to support.
–Laura E., Camarillo, CA
Stumbled on this place today and was very impressed! The restaurant is neat and airy, and the friendly staff make guests feel welcome. Diners are given a basket of addictive mini-muffins to munch on while perusing the menu.
For lunch, I order the chicken salad sandwich, which consisted of a very ample scoop of freshly made chicken salad on warm, soft rye with crisp iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. For a side dish I selected the cream of potato soup, which tasted like it was made with real cream and came garnished with thinly sliced scallions.
The food tastes fresh and home-made, and there is an attention to detail here that reflects care and a genuine love of good food on the part of the owners and staff. I will definitely come back here. Can’t wait to try breakfast!
–Linda A., Los Angeles, CA
This has become our go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch on the days that we go out to eat. The staff is always friendly and It definitely has a family owned atmosphere. The omelets are great, their Greek salad is yummy and the homemade salsa is a must try. I wish they were opened for dinner because the food and service is consistently good, which is hard to find.
–Jody T., Camarillo, CA
I always feel good after having breakfast or lunch here. The Cafe has a nice variety of dishes and, without exception, all that I have eaten have been delicious. I particularly like their tri-tip omelet. The price of the food is a tad less than comparable places in town which is a bonus. While the food is tasty (or I won’t return), it is the staff that really makes this place shine. They are so friendly. The Cafe is located in a corner of a mall so you have to really look for it.
–Nancy R., Thousand Oaks, CA
Food is yummy. Service is EXCELLENT! My husband got the chicken fried steak that wasn’t cooked all the way. The HAPPILY took it back and brought him a new one – even offering to bring him something entirely different if it still wasn’t ok. Will definitely return!
–Kim W., Ventura, CA
Best Breakfast ever! I love the food, service and atmosphere. We eat here for breakfast every Saturday and love it!
–Bee C., Camarillo, CA
Nice people and good food. A good alternative for breakfast in Camarillo. I’m glad I found it!
–Erica S., Camarillo, CA
We had to wait a few minutes but the food was good. We had the chips and I had the burger it was very tasty.
–Wes E., Camarillo, CA
The Good Morning Cafe has great breakfast food at very reasonable prices. Their baked goods seem to be the highlight, but the omelets are also very tasty and well portioned.
It’s a family establishment with a down home feel. I’ll definitely be back!
–Jorn P., Camarillo, CA
Great place to start your day with a very hearty , fresh and fulfilling breakfast. Family owned and they really know how to deal with customers. They value you very much and take care whatever you need. Nice staff. You will have freshly baked mini muffin with coffee. And muffins are complimentary. I ordered veggie omelette and they really made me vegetarian one with egg whites. Really impressed with what i got and had a good time. Price is also good.
–Jeff Z., Thousand Oaks, CA
I love the family that runs this place as much as the chocolate mini muffins they serve at every table. On Sundays after church it’s packed. Good food and good service. They also have hearty salad and soup specials for those that don’t feel like breakfast.
–Stephanie G., Los Angeles, CA
Excellent home made entrees, breakfasts to die for……..hard to see from Arneill (behind Wendy’s) . This little known place is my favorite and a true hidden gem.
–Mike S., Canyon Country, CA
Good service, and good food. Best place to eat breakfast in Camarillo. Good food and pretty good service.
–Jordan S., Camarillo, CA
I really wanted a dip having just been to the races the day before and seeing the hand-carved corned beef. Lo and behold! Corned beef dip, on the menu. It arrived–big and with a HUGE bowl of au jus, just what I was looking for.
It was when she asked me if I wanted mustard, horseradish and then brought out the bottles to just encourage me to go nuts when I decided, gold stars for you guys.
I will say they were very attentive and friendly, I don’t know if my water ever got below half way and the prices were good. I think my sandwich was about 10 bucks. The cole slaw was unremarkable, but other than that…)
–Kevin T., Los Angeles, CA
Friendly service, decent food. So far so good.
–David T., Camarillo, CA
Friendly service at a family owned cafe with excellent food. I couldn’t eat the seafood omelet fast enough. Yesterday, I had the New York steak and eggs, and it was done to perfection – tender and juicy. Take a look at their menu. If you don’t see what you want, ask them to make it the way you want it. I believe they will be more than happy to accommodate you. Unfortunately, they close at 3:00 PM, so get there a little earlier or you’ll miss out.
–Sincerely, James P., a satisfied customer.
My wife and I went to the new cafe on it’s second day being open for an early breakfast. We were greeted by the owner and within 30 seconds of ordering, had two hot cups of very good coffee. we chatted with the owner about the new restaurant and her recommendations. The menu choices are adequate, waffles, pancakes, omelets, scrambles, and a few mexican dishes. We ordered the Camarillo scramble and the veggie scramble. The coffee cup was never close to becoming empty during our meal. Food was very good and the portions more than adequate, much closer to homemade than to big chain production line food. By all means try the fresh biscuits, they were worth the visit by themselves. Can’t wait to try their mexican breakfasts and lunch. Give them a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
–Martin W., Camarillo, CA
Fairly new to Camarillo – off the beaten path – corner location in the Smart & Final/99 Cent Store shopping center on Arneill. My husband and I are breakfast diners…he loves to cook – we both love his meals which leaves breakfast as our ‘date’ events – is GREAT and a wonderful way to start the day fresh! We’ve tried just about every locale in town. He happened upon Good Morning Cafe yesterday – came home for lunch and suggested we try it this morning before we headed our separate ways to work. Poor little spot in the shopping center has seen many restaurants come and go – all types of food. I was a bit skeptical due to the many establishments opened and closed in this hard to see corner. WOWZERS – am I glad we did! Breakfast special $4.99 – 2 eggs, 2 strips bacon/sausage, morning potatoes, toast. How do you beat that?? More importantly – it waaassss delish!! Scrambled eggs cooked to perfection! Great sourdough toast with real whipped butter, potatoes were awesome, bacon perfectly cooked and mighty tasty. I had a fruit cup that looked and tasted to be fresh from the Oxnard plains. Farmer Brothers Coffee guarantees to never miss the mark with flavor. We were both members of the clean plate club – easy!!! We happily complimented our server on the great food – she warmly thanked us and shared a bit about the staff history. This is a restaurant run by a group of friends – all from the restaurant industry – cooks et. al. They’ve come from long standing and successfully run coffee shops and restaurants from Ventura County who after decades have closed. Psst – they flat know what great food is. Even stopped and shared our thoughts with folks standing and looking to the restaurant from the parking lot. Open everyday at from 6A to 3P with lunch, dinner and take-out – back around the corner next to the 99 Cent store. Not to be missed! I know we won’t – are set to become regulars! Easy decision – should be for you too! Great meal you will enjoy.
–PJ M., Camarillo, CA
I went into this place not knowing what to expect…
The lady who greeted me upon entering was very friendly.
I had the pancake sandwich which is your choice of pancakes, buckwheat, pumpkin or regular, egg and a meat. It was very good. The pumpkin pancakes were huge and tasted great. I asked about the chile verde on the menu and she said it was made from scratch and then brought me out a sample. It certainly was fresh and homemade. Very good. My only complaint is the standard cafe coffee.
–JP S., Camarillo, CA
What a wonderful place for breakfast !! It makes all the difference in the world when the owners actually care. These folks have been serving breakfast for decades elsewhere, and decided to start up a business for themselves. I am glad they did. This is a great spot to enjoy a hardy, down-home breakfast. You MUST go and enjoy this gem of a place.
–PD B., Camarillo, CA
I love this place and the great folks who run it. The food is of the highest quality, very tasty, and really reasonably priced.
My husband loves chicken fried steak, ordered it and thought it was great. Apparently, they tenderize the meat which Neil M mistook for ground meat.
If they make corned beef hash, they cook the beef prepared from scratch–no canned stuff here. The biscuits are freshly made, the spinach omelette is chock full of FRESH spinach. The tuna is great and the potato salad and cole slaw are all home made and delicious. The sandwiches are served on the best rye bread unless you choose some other bread–I highly recommend the rye.
The restaurant is pristine clean and the owners are super nice.
–Barbara J., Camarillo, CA
Wonderful Best Breakfast and Lunch place in Camarillo, I am hooked , great service and Wonderful food. I have been going at least one a week! My mom is going to have her 85th Birthday lunch there!
–Robyn L., Oxnard, CA
We started our small group meeting here at the first of the year and I have never had a bad meal since. In fact everything I have tried has been great. The service is friendly and the family working there makes everyone feel as if they are family too. Yes it’s a small place but the place is clean and well organized. Breakfast or lunch I have been very pleased with the food and service here.
–Larry M., Oxnard, CA
This place is simply awesome! Been there 3 times so far, and is my new favorite breakfast place. They have a great menu, which is pretty varied, prices are very reasonable.
The food is always prompt, and service is just excellent.
These guys earn their tips, and value their customers. You can tell that this is a family run business, because they simply care about their business, and the people eat their. The only thing I have had so far that I didn’t like was their Bran Muffin, but that is probably more my taste, than the muffin actually being bad! 🙂 Try their Chili Verde, its really good! You have to try this place!
–Simon H., Camarillo, CA
Fast and yummy…I’m a fan of the mini muffin appetizer:-)
–Kayd W., San Diego, CA
Very good food and atmosphere. I have been there two times and both times i always had anything i need I.E fresh coffee creamer etc.. Very attentive waitress and hostess. Will absolutely go back to this cafe. If you are going to go make sure you look for it though you cant see it very well from the road since its in the corner of the building worth it though!
–Emily R., Canyon Country, CA
I call this place “Good Day Lunch” since I don’t do breakfast. Don’t miss the New England clam chowder on Fridays. The very best clam chowder west of Cape Cod! It’s a meal in it’s self. Try the homemade potato chips and any of the deli sandwiches. They are as good as any New York deli and are piled high with meat. The place is comfortable and the owners and the staff are really great and attentive people. I like the little touches like the two mini muffins they give you when you sit down. They are wonderful with unique and yummy flavors. Please tell all your friends about this cafe since it’s next to the 99 cent store but set back behind in the corner. Maybe I’ll have to try breakfast – the food is so good.
–Pete S., Camarillo, CA
Doing business in Camarillo ….driving down the street I see the sign so my mother and I decide to stop instead of going to Dennys….since we don’t really know the places to eat here…so glad we chose Good Morning Cafe….the first thing I noticed is how clean the place is…salt & pepper shakers, table, menus…not all gooey with someone else dirty fingers….the coffee is excellent…we had breakfast….next time I will take pictures …the chile verde breakfast buritto was excellent and big enough that I took 1/2 home and warmed it up the next day and it was great….home made pinto beans were delicious and tasted like my mother made them…mom had huevos rancheros that was also very good…good homemade salsa…good fried potatoes…I don’t understand the guy who gave one star….he must have been drunk when he went in…there breakfast food is very very good…I will try the lunches next time….I overheard the waitress tell the lady in the next booth that the chef cooks fresh turkey for the cobb salad…yum one of my favorites…will try that next time…also they serve mini muffins as soon as you sit down that are homemade and delicious !!! The waitress who served us was on the ball…very wonderful place to eat.
–Barbara M., Malibu, CA
First breakfast here, and it won’t be our last. Simple menu, but covers all the breakfast and lunch needs. Friendly and fast service. Good prices with reasonable serving size. Out of the way location, but with good food people will find them. I always judge a b-fast place by two things: eggs and corned beef. Both are excellent here. Try it!
–Andy D., Camarillo, CA
Awesome place! Friendly staff and very clean! Reasonable prices and home made meals! Will def. come again. 🙂
–Hollie E., Camarillo, CA
So far so good! Wifey and I have been in twice so far and have been impressed on both trips. This little hide away in the smart and final shopping center has GREAT service, GREAT food, and Great prices. Support this new local business!
–Bradley P., Camarillo, CA
Love the mini muffins you get before you get your food…and so far I have loved everthing I have tried. Get there people it’s good eats.
–Katie M., Camarillo, CA
Best breakfast in Camarillo, if you don’t count Ric’s restaurant… If you are not looking for an omelette, I would suggest coming here over anywhere else.
By the way, Soup is the best if you like it homestyle, and the best fried chicken outside of Roscoe’s
–Chum D., Camarillo, CA
This is the epitome of a great cafe. Fresh coffee, everything on the menu gives you the feeling if being at home, mini muffins are deelish and the service makes you always feel welcomed!! Hard to find but we’ll worth the search!
–Ros S., Reseda, CA
We really enjoyed this new cafe. The people are so friendly, seating is comfortable, and the menu has a nice variety of breakfast and lunch choices. Our meal was delicious! Once you’re seated, they bring you a nice basket of warm muffins and butter to munch on while you browse the menu… a nice touch, especially if you’re hungry when you walk in. It’s obvious the owners really care and are making an effort to please their customers.
–Kerri M., Ventura, CA
The chilequiles are to die for!
–John K., Camarillo, CA
I just had lunch there – the Steak Ranchero Omelet. Awesome. What a flavor combination. Try it with Cholula sauce – you will love it. Additionally, the service was, as always, exceptional.Sincerely, James Purcer
